At QuizGen AI, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our AI-powered social study platform.

2. Data Collection & Security

🔒 Your Data is Protected by Supabase

We use Supabase, an enterprise-grade database solution, to securely store your email address, profile information, and quiz attempts. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

Personal Information We Collect:

  • Email address (for account creation and authentication)
  • Display name and bio (optional, for your profile)
  • Avatar/profile picture (optional)
  • Quiz scores and attempt history
  • Telegram User ID (if you choose to use our Telegram Bot)

3. AI Processing & Google Gemini API

🤖 Transparent AI Usage

When you upload PDFs or text to generate quizzes, your content is processed by the Google Gemini API. Importantly, your documents are NOT used to train public AI models. Google processes your data solely to generate quiz questions and does not retain your content beyond the API request.

We do not store your uploaded PDFs permanently on our servers. Once quiz questions are generated, the original document is discarded to protect your privacy.

4. Public Leaderboard Data

📊 Public Information

To foster healthy competition and community engagement, your quiz scores and username are publicly visible on leaderboards. This allows you to compare your performance with fellow aspirants and track your progress.

If you prefer to keep your scores private, you can opt out of leaderboards in your account settings.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our platform. This helps us improve user experience and identify bugs. Analytics data is anonymized and does not identify individual users.

Essential cookies are used for authentication and session management. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update incorrect or incomplete profile information
  • Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export: Download your quiz history and scores in JSON format

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal information is permanently removed within 30 days. Quiz statistics may be retained in anonymized form for platform analytics.
